The 4R's... adopting best practices for long-term improvement.
We are proud to be one of the first three companies in Ohio to be 4R certified, which means we are using the Right Source of Nutrients at the Right Rate and Right Time in the Right Place. Both our Morral and Caledonia locations are 4R certified. This voluntary program provides a consistent, recognized standard for agricultural retailers in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio where surrounding waters drain into Lake Erie. As regulations are being considered, it’s critical retailers and their grower customers adopt best practices to realize long-term improvements.
The program certifies that individuals and entities in the Western Lake Erie Basin that sell, apply or make recommendations on how fertilizers should be applied to crops are doing so in accordance with 4R Nutrient Stewardship principles — which refers to using the Right Source of Nutrients at the Right Rate and Right Time in the Right Place. Applicants must go through an audit and demonstrate they not only understand 4R principles, but also follow them.
